Thorens TAB 1600 Absorber Base

The Thorens Absorber Base TAB1600 was specially developed for the improved placement of turntables. The base plate is made of MDF, which is additionally damped by a fabric layer, and is manufactured with an acoustic foam in sandwich construction. This unique combination decouples the turntable from its base in a highly efficient way and thus prevents acoustic feedback. Contrary to the principle of coupling by spikes, which often negatively affects the sound quality due to vibration coupling to the subfloor, we use the principle of decoupling with the TAB1600, thus keeping negative influences from structure-borne sound away from the turntable.
