The new Ruark R1 MK4

One of the most difficult tasks in developing the R1 Mk4 was to implement new audio and feature enhancements while still being able to offer a competitive product that was priced close to its predecessor. The wooden cabinets we used in our previous R1 models certainly looked beautiful, but were very labour-intensive to produce. For the first time, we have therefore opted for an efficient injection moulding process for production. This change has also allowed us to give the case a subtle shape. In addition, the modern, contemporary design provides a perfect surface for our new Light Cream and Espresso lacquer versions. Prepared inside with a special acoustic coating, the rigid and acoustically inert polymer cabinet provides the ideal match for the electronics and our newly developed NS+ speaker unit. Together with the handcrafted wooden front grille, we have created a timeless radio inspired by design classics that is still clearly recognisable as a Ruark. In terms of sound and features, the R1 Mk4 sets new standards! The powerful amplifier unit, together with our proprietary NS+ speaker unit and adaptive equalisation, produces a full and extremely balanced sound at all volumes. The high-contrast OLED display shows crisp time, alarm and programme information. It can be set to automatically adjust to ambient light. This also makes it a perfect companion in the bedroom. The reception quality is excellent in both digital and analogue radio mode. The high-quality Bluetooth receiver enables quick and easy connection to smartphones or other players, so you can easily play your favourite streaming services. Also included is a USB playback and charging port that supports many formats, including FLAC and WAV. Additional playback devices can also be connected via the line-in input. Our trademark RotoDial controller on the top of the R1 makes operation intuitive. Optionally, there is a compact remote control for control as well as a battery pack , which allows the R1 to be used on the move.
