Together with the release of the Reference Celebration 40, Sumiko is launching the Blue Point No. 3 - another tribute to 40 years of cartridge development. Sumiko has looked and listened closely to the resonance characteristics of the Blue Point No. 2 and identified room for refinement. Resonance has a greater impact than many listeners realise, so they have sought to redesign the resonance of the cabinet around the generator.... and we believe they have found what they were looking for.

The sonic presentation of the Blue Point No. 3 is reminiscent of old Shure and Stanton MMs, known for their smoothness. With the proven MC generator system, this smoothness is balanced by the subtlety and nuance you expect from a Sumiko MC. First and foremost - and if the word was ever appropriate - Blue Point No. 3 builds its sound image from the bottom up with a wonderfully smooth low-end response. Bass lovers will get their money's worth here. Lush and warm, yet defined and structured - the naturalness of the bass range will take you right in. But that's not all. You can expect the same colourfulness and richness in the mids, which nevertheless remain transparent, and a treble range that is fine yet airy.

As much as Sumiko stands behind the Blue Point No. 3 High, the Blue Point No. 3 Low is a game changer.
