The TD 1600 bridges the gap between the tradition that made Thorens turntables world-famous and 21st century technology.

Externally very close to the earlier 160 series with its classic wooden plinth, two-piece platter with internal belt and thick rubber mat, arm board and acrylic bonnet, but inside it is full of innovations.

The three springs of the sub-chassis do not hang on the top board, but stand on the floor. At the same time, a taut steel thread in the extension of the motor pulley - platter axle axis prevents lateral wobbling and thus ensures a piston-shaped oscillation of the subchassis even during start-up, when the motor force is strongest and the belt pulls laterally on the platter axle.

The sophisticated engine control system ensures a constant speed with exact synchronisation.
