If a prize were to be awarded for sovereign understatement, then this turntable would deserve it. Black, simple and seemingly reduced to the essentials, this turntable takes a back seat on the outside. As a connoisseur, however, you quickly notice that the large MoFi turntable comes into your own listening room with professional genes. As befits a serious turntable, the UltraDeck is dedicated to belt drive. The particularly high and therefore extra heavy platter is guided by a precision belt on its outer flank. Both the mighty platter and the pulley of the AC motor, which is placed on the outside of the frame, are made of the highly damping material Delrin. The three-layered plinth elegantly conceals its elaborate internal construction with a circumferential surround. Of course, this Allen Perkins turntable also uses the HRS feet designed for effective decoupling. Both the platter and motor bearings are of exceptional quality. After strict selection, only the highest quality bearings with the lowest tolerances are used in the UltraDeck. Accordingly, the mirror in the platter is a noble sapphire bearing, which is normally only used in drives of the highest price range. The 10-inch long, gimbal-mounted tonearm has a horizontal top bearing and offers all conceivable adjustment options needed for a record player of this calibre. High-quality cartridges are perfectly guided on this 10" tonearm.

Accordingly, this record player shines as UltraDeck Plus with a MoFi UltraTracker mounted ex works. The UltraDeck +M version, which combines the top MasterTracker cartridge, meets the highest demands. Therefore, one should not be deceived by the outwardly simple elegance of this turntable. In operation, at the latest, the UltraDeck shows what it can really do with unbridled joy of playing and an outstanding sense of rhythm.
