The X8 combines the sonic advantages of a sub-chassis and mass-loaded turntable and offers a low-cost entry into mass-loaded technology and true-balanced connection (optional balanced cable required). The platter, weighing over five kilograms, is precision-turned from a single piece of aluminium and is internally immobilised with a ring of TPE*. An inverted platter bearing with ceramic running surfaces ensures absolutely precise and controlled guidance. The magnetic support with mutually repelling neodymium magnets relieves the bearing of a large part of the platter weight. This significantly improves the smooth running of the bearing.

The chassis is made of solid MDF. It stands on aluminium-turned, TPE-damped feet with height adjustment. This allows perfect alignment on and optimal decoupling from any surface.

The Pro-Ject X8 comes in a sophisticated metallic finish and is equipped with a factory fitted Ortofon MC Quintet Black cartridge.

Chassis in noble metallic finish

The solid chassis made of compressed wood fibre stands on three height-adjustable aluminium feet with TPE* damping.

The resonance-optimised, 5.1 kg platter is a sandwich construction of a polished aluminium platter damped with TPE* and covered with felt (replaceable).

The inverted platter bearing consists of an upright stainless steel axle with a ceramic ball on which a bushing with a ceramic bearing base rotates; a supporting magnetic bearing with neodymium magnets carries most of the load

Integrated motor control with electronic speed selection between 33 and 45 rpm 

Outsourced power supply to protect against mechanical and electromagnetic interference

Straight 9-inch tonearm

The conically shaped tonearm tube and the headshell are made of carbon fibre without attachments.

The tonearm tube can be twisted after loosening a screw. This allows horizontal (azimuth) adjustment of the cartridge.

The tonearm base offers an adjustment of the vertical pick-up angle (VTA)
